Easter on Oʻahu: Sunshine, Family Fun & Island-Style Celebrations

Springtime in Hawaiʻi brings warm breezes, colorful blooms, and plenty of reasons to celebrate, and Easter on Oʻahu is no exception. Whether you’re visiting for the holiday or call the island home, Easter weekend offers a mix of family-friendly events, outdoor adventures, delicious meals, and opportunities to make lasting memories in paradise.

One of the most adventurous Easter activities for kids and families is a sail and snorkel trip with Ko Olina Ocean Adventures – Snorkel & Sail Tours in Oʻahu. The catamaran tours depart from Ko Olina Marina and take you out into the vibrant Pacific for snorkeling among tropical fish, possible dolphin sightings, and is a refreshing way to enjoy the sea with kids of all ages. Many guests love filling the day with smiles, sea breezes and tropical views- each child also receives a goodie bag filled with treats and treasure.

While you are on the west side of the island, you may also be interested in the annual Gold & Platinum Egg Hunt at Visit Wet’n’Wild Hawaiʻi for their Egg Hunt & Water Park Fun in Kapolei. This isn’t your typical hunt- dozens of golden eggs are hidden throughout the park, each containing exciting prizes. The water park’s kiddie areas, pools and wave rides make it an extra fun way to spend Easter (park admission required).

Easter Brunch & Local Eats

No Easter weekend is complete without a delicious brunch, and Oʻahu has some superb choices:

  • For a special Sunday Brunch with ocean views, head to Orchids at the Halekulani Hotel. This elegant restaurant in Waikiki is famous for its award-winning Sparkling Sunday Brunch, featuring fresh seafood, made-to-order omelets, carving stations, desserts and more, all with panoramic ocean views that make the meal feel like an occasion.
  • In a more casual, cozy setting, Sweet E’s Cafe – Breakfast & Brunch in Honolulu serves up hearty breakfast classics and delightful brunch fare in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Locals and visitors alike flock here for pancakes, sandwiches, and island favorites.
  • Another great local choice not to miss is Brunch Spot Waikiki, known for its creative brunch dishes and relaxed vibe, perfect for fueling up before a day of Easter activities. (You can check their menu and reservations online.)

Reflective & Scenic Easter Moments

For those seeking a quieter, meaningful moment on Easter Sunday, attending service at St. Augustine’s by the Sea in Waikiki offers a beautiful way to celebrate the holiday with the community. Their beachfront location and reverent services make for a moving experience.

Afterward, pack a picnic from Tucker and Bevvy and explore Oʻahu’s lush landscapes: the tranquil paths of Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden offer shaded trails, open lawns and a backdrop of impossibly green peaks. You can also finish the day up top the city, watching the sunset at Roundtop drive, which offers a stunning view of the city, and the ocean sunset.

From splashing at water parks and chasing eggs, to feasting on brunch and soaking up the island’s natural beauty, Easter on Oʻahu blends celebration with aloha spirit in a way that’s truly unforgettable.
