Dry Dock Aboard Holole’a Kai
At Ko Olina Ocean Adventures, we have proudly been creating unforgettable experiences on the waters of Oʻahu for 28 years. Our commitment to excellence goes far beyond the tours themselves, it also means maintaining the highest standards for safety, comfort, and appearance aboard our vessel, Hololeʻa Kai.
Each year we complete an annual dry dock period dedicated to routine maintenance, upgrades, and restoration work to ensure our guests continue to enjoy the best possible experience at sea.
This year’s dry dock included several major maintenance projects and exciting refreshes throughout the vessel. Our crew completed extensive work on the catamaran, including inspections of the mast stepping system as well as the removal and replacement of the sails to ensure continued safe and reliable operations.
Our vessel also received a beautiful cosmetic refresh. The cabin decks, exterior deck, bar top, and other painted surfaces were freshly refinished, giving Hololeʻa Kai a clean and updated look for the season ahead. Teak wood detailing throughout the vessel including the handrails and window frames were carefully restored and refinished to bring back its natural beauty.
One of the most unique additions guests will notice onboard is our newly updated dining table tops. Each table now features stunning custom resin wave artwork created by one of our very own crew members. These handcrafted tables add a personal artistic touch to the vessel and reflect the passion and creativity of our team.
Safety continues to remain our highest priority. Following dry dock, the vessel underwent a full U.S. Coast Guard inspection to ensure all safety equipment, systems, and operational procedures meet required standards.
We also refreshed and updated all snorkel gear onboard to provide the highest level of safety, comfort, and performance for our guests during their ocean adventures.
Our crew takes incredible pride in caring for Hololeʻa Kai and keeping her looking her very best. We are excited to welcome both returning and first-time guests aboard for another amazing season on the water.
